Minister of Justice / Attorney General visited Abunzi mediators in Musanze District

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General Busingye Johnston visited Abunzi mediators in Musanze District on Friday 12 June 2020. Those were represented by their presidents at the sector appeal level, heeding measures of preventing Coronavirus.

Minister Busingye appealed to the mediators and local government authorities to collaborate to keep the work of Abunzi mediators going in these challenging times of COVID-19 especially due to the fact that other activities have resumed.

“Mediators and local government authorities should work together to ensure progressive activities of Abunzi mediators just like other activities have resumed with the ease of lockdown” Minister Busingye said.

He added that what should be given done is to “follow prevention measure put in place by the Ministry of Health such as social distancing, regular washing of hands and wearing a facemask”

“This,” he added “is what we ask local authorities to abide by just like they have been doing it”

Minister Busingye thanked Musanze District for their relentless help to the Abunzi which has made the latter able to execute their responsibilities of fostering harmony among Rwandans and particularly thanked them for dedication, counsels, and integrity which have characterised the Abunzi.
